Real Estate Software Development Company for Custom Systems
Brokerages, property managers and investors often run on four to six tools that do not share data, and off-the-shelf software covers only the common case. Vascoh builds custom software, integrations and AI workflows for real estate businesses, starting from the systems you already pay for.

Typical work falls into four groups: data integrations, internal tools, client-facing portals, and AI workflows. A brokerage may need listing data from an MLS feed combined with CRM and transaction records. A property manager may need owner reporting that pulls from a PMS and accounting. An investor may need a deal pipeline that ingests broker packages and extracts the numbers.
The first conversation is about your current stack, since a good build reuses what works and replaces only the broken connections.
Budget and timeline depend on scope, the number of systems involved and the quality of each vendor's API, so Vascoh scopes after reviewing your stack. A short discovery step prevents surprises such as an API tier that costs extra or a data field that the vendor never exposes.
- MLS and IDX data pipelines using the RESO Web API
- PMS, accounting and CRM integrations (AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi, QuickBooks Online, Follow Up Boss)
- Owner, tenant and vendor portals with role-based access
- AI document and message workflows with human review
When does custom software beat off-the-shelf?
Buy when the vendor's product covers 90% of your process and its API lets you reach the rest. Build when your workflow spans several tools, when you need a calculation or report no vendor offers, or when manual re-entry between systems is where errors happen. Many real estate firms sit in the middle: keep the PMS or CRM, and build the connective layer.
Why do MLS and portal data projects need special care?
MLS data is licensed, not owned. Each MLS sets rules on display, attribution, refresh intervals and allowed uses, and those rules differ between boards. RESO reports that at least 90% of MLSs now have certified Web API services, and Web API data now covers 62.4% of U.S. subscribers, up from under 5% in 2021. The older RETS standard is being phased out at different times by different MLSs, so a project should be built on the Web API from the start.
Vascoh reads the MLS's data license before design, because it determines what can be stored, shown and sent.
How do you choose a real estate software development partner?
Ask to see how the partner would handle your hardest integration, not a demo of a generic app. Ask who owns the code, where it is hosted, and how credentials for your PMS and accounting systems are stored. Ask what happens when a vendor changes its API. Vascoh delivers code and documentation you own and builds integrations with retry logic, logging and alerting so failures are visible.
Scope control matters as much as technology. A common pattern is a first release limited to one data flow, such as syncing a PMS to a reporting database and publishing an owner dashboard, followed by features added when users have tried it. This avoids a long build with nothing to test. It also keeps hosting simple: a managed database, a small web service and scheduled jobs cover many real estate tools, without a large platform investment.
- Code and infrastructure ownership in writing
- Secrets in a managed vault, not in source code
- Monitoring that alerts you when a sync fails
Where does AI fit into real estate software?
IREM and AppFolio found that 62% of current AI users among property managers started within the past year, so practices are still being settled. The reliable pattern is AI at the edges of a structured system: reading emails, leases and invoices, then writing validated fields into the database. Decisions that carry legal or financial weight keep a human approver.
How a project runs
From first call to working system.
Audit the stack and pick the first build
Vascoh lists your systems, their APIs and the manual handoffs, then chooses the project with the clearest payoff.
Build in small releases
Working pieces ship in sequence so you can test with real data and give feedback early.
Hand over and support
You receive the code, documentation and monitoring, with support available for changes.
Questions
Common questions
What does a real estate software development company do?
It designs and builds custom software for real estate businesses, including MLS data pipelines, PMS and CRM integrations, portals, reporting tools and AI workflows.
What is the most common real estate software used?
Agents commonly use a CRM and transaction platform, and property managers use a PMS such as AppFolio, Buildium or Yardi. The right custom work usually connects these tools.
Can you integrate with my existing CRM or property management software?
Usually yes, depending on the vendor's API access on your plan. Vascoh checks this first and falls back to scheduled exports when no API exists.
Do I own the software you build?
Ownership terms are set in the contract. Vascoh's approach is to deliver source code and documentation to the client.
